VENICE DAYS MOVIES RELEASED IN ITALY
19/03/2008
On April 4 La Zona by Rodrigo Plá will be released in Italy, thanks to the company run by Nanni Moretti - Sacher Distribuzione. The film, presented in the selection of Venice Days’ last edition, was awarded in Venice with the Luigi De Laurentiis Award (the so-called Lion of the Future) for best debut.
In Spanish theatres last fall, the film will be shortly released in France as well. In fact, Wild Bunch has sold it to several territories, which include USA, Canada, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Greece, Israel and Belgium.
In the next few weeks, however, other films selected by Venice Days will be released in Italy, confirming the growing interest of Italian distributors in the films offered by the Venetian independent showcase. Among others, Cargo 200 by the renowned Russian director Aleksej Balabanov, an Archibald Enterprise release in Italy, Under the Bombs by Philippe Aractingi, a Fandango release, and Don’t think about it (Non pensarci) by Gianni Zanasi, a 01 Distribution release, on Italian screens next April.
